Hi g. i have the exact same problem with my hp printer 4650 but with the volor cartridge. i have tried removing and reinstalling the cartridge, cleaning it , turning off the printer and all ,but it did not help . could you please order new replacement for my color cartridge?. If the carriage does not move to the left, and you cannot inspect or replace the ink cartridges, go to 'carriage jam' message displays on the printer control panel. push in on the front of the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge toward you to remove it from its slot.. My father's printer has a message to replace the black ink cartridge which he did with a brand new hp cartridge but the message is still on the screen to replace the black cartridge which he did with another brand new cartridge but the message still appears on the screen..
